Kayantá one of top 50 spas

The Kayantá Spa at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cancun, a luxurious refuge which offers an experience of total renewal and relaxation, was chosen by the readers of the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler international magazine as one of the 50 best Spas in North America and the Caribbean.

More than 1,000 readers evaluated a total of 544 Spas according to seven criteria: environment, treatments, service, cabins, cuisine, program/facilities and other activities. Kayantá Spa received an average of 84.4 points and achieved 32nd place.

Only two Spas in Mexico were selected in the evaluation.

“The real secret of this outcome is the environment of serenity, the small details and the genuine care that our men and women dedicate to our guests. Our mission is not to provide treatments but to create a remarkable Spa experience for each guest,” commented Simona Dumitru, the manager of the Spa. “In every detail – amenities, design, procedures – our guests can experience the reality that our objective is their complete well being.”

Inspired by the Mayan phrase “ka´a yaan´tah”- which means “rebirth,” Kayantá Spa in the Cancun Ritz-Carlton is a luxurious refuge, which offers complete renewal and relaxation.

Services offered by the Spa include water rituals, massages, body treatments and facials inspired by the world’s ancient cultures that are administered in an atmosphere of warmth. The Valet service assures that the guests’ experience of the rooms and other facilities is as relaxing as the treatments themselves.

Guests enjoy luxury cabins for treatments that include two Swiss Vichy high-pressure showers and a suite designed for couples to enjoy massages. Sections for men and women include a herbal steam room, pressure showers and generous facilities with programmable safety deposit boxes. Relaxation areas offer Jacuzzis and cold-water pools.

The Spa also offers private terraces for treatments and hydro massage baths with Caribbean Sea views. Guests can also experience a massage against the background of the sounds of the sea under a private palm frond cabana, in the Spa’s gardens or on the beach.

The treatments offered reflect the richness of the history and mysticism of the world of the Mayas. Lol-Ha, is a traditional Mayan bridal bath, which leaves both skin and spirit relaxed and glowing, and includes plant extracts, relaxing crystals and flower petals. The Zac-Xib treatment for men includes a vigorous exfoliation with balneotherapy, using essential plant oils.

The Sacred Massage with hot stones is a tribute to the importance of stones in Pre-Hispanic cultural rituals.

The Spa is complemented by a wide variety of health facilities, including two open air pools, three tennis courts, a gymnasium with modern cardiovascular equipment and weights, steam room, sauna, aerobic studio and personal training facilities.

Typical treatments at the Kayantá Spa reflect the rich history of ancient Mayan tradition complemented by the legendary Ritz-Carlton service.

Kayantá Spa occupies an exclusive location with views of the Caribbean Sea, and offers a multidimensional experience for all the senses with exotic textures, soft aromas and relaxing

sounds and colors.
