2006 was a very good year for the Panamanian Association of Real Estate Agents (ACOBIR), and thanks to the real estate boom that we are currently experiencing, it was also a very exciting year. So it is no surprise that the number of members increased significantly during the year, a factor which also augurs well increasing levels of professionalism among real estate agents.

A gathering of members was held in the Union Club to bid farewell to the old year and to welcome in 2007, during which the outgoing president Elda Sansón signed an agreement with the Minister of Housing Balbina Herrera, initiating collaboration between ACOBIR and The Commission for Social Responsibility, on behalf of the Ministry of Housing. This represents a new approach whereby ACOBIR and its associates will respond to natural and difficult situations. Iván Carlucci, the new President of the organization for 2007, showed a video of the recent party held in the María Enríquez School for 400 children, supported by ten of Panama’s real estate companies.
